Living with Purpose: Embracing Intention as My Word of the Year.

Living with Purpose: Embracing Intention as My Word of the Year.

Intention: My Word of the Year

Each year, I pick a word to guide me. This year, I’ve chosen “intention.” It’s my North Star, rooted in reflection, growth, and a commitment to aligning my actions with purpose. In previous years, I’ve faced challenges with a fearless heart, balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and personal evolution. This year feels different. It’s not about doing more but about doing things with deeper meaning and purpose. It’s about creating space for what truly matters and approaching life with clarity and mindfulness.

Motherhood and Intention

Motherhood has redefined me in ways I never imagined. My son is my greatest teacher, reminding me to be present, to listen, and to lead by example. This year, I’m setting the intention to savor the small moments—the bedtime stories, the spontaneous laughter, and even the challenges—because these are the memories that shape both of us.

For anyone navigating parenthood, I encourage you to pause and cherish these fleeting moments. Find joy in the ordinary; it’s often where the magic lies.

Intention in Business

As the founder of Baan De Sol and Levanta, intention means staying true to the roots of my businesses. For both professional and personal decisions, I’ll ask myself: “Does this align with my values and vision?” This guiding question ensures that every step I take reflects authenticity and purpose.

If you’re building something meaningful, whether it’s a business or a personal project, try creating your own guiding question. Use it as a filter to keep you grounded and aligned with your goals.

Well-Being and Self-Care

Intention also means prioritizing my mental and physical well-being. Overcoming postpartum anxiety and depression taught me the importance of self-care and the courage it takes to seek help. If you’re facing similar struggles, know that you’re not alone. Seek out resources, connect with supportive communities, and give yourself grace. Healing isn’t linear, but every small step forward counts.

Building Community with Intention

Community has always been at the heart of my work. Through markets, workshops, collaborations, and events, I’m committed to creating environments where people feel seen and celebrated. This year, I’m deepening those connections, ensuring that every interaction is authentic and impactful.

If you’re looking to build a community, start by showing up authentically and seeking out spaces that align with your passions. Remember, genuine connections take time but are always worth the effort.

Living with Intention

Choosing intention as my word of the year is my way of slowing down and moving forward with purpose. It’s a reminder to focus my energy mindfully and to ensure every step I take aligns with the life I’m striving to build—a life that honors my values, my family, and my dreams.

As I embark on this journey of intentional living, I invite you to reflect on what intention means to you. What guiding question can help you make purposeful decisions? How can you create space for what matters most? Let’s walk this path together, creating lives filled with meaning, connection, and joy.
